Getting Garage Doors Fixed ASAP
For most companies, which cater to households and homeowners, there is a big degree of dependence on word-of-mouth. To a certain extent, this has become bigger lately with the extension of word-of-mouth into social media. Whereas before, whenever you install a single garage door opener, only the immediate neighbors would notice. Now, with social media, the whole world will notice. The sad part is that if you did a bad job, more people would notice and remember your company, compared to spreading good news when you do a good job.
This lesson is not that easy to learn. As a company that provides a service where we interact with end-users and homeowners, we know that a job well done will translate to more sales. What caught us was the degree of response when a customer is satisfied enough to post a picture on social media. The first time it happened, someone was very happy with their garage door, and posted it on Instagram. He was basically telling his followers that he got a new garage door. Nothing new to us, but the reaction we got was immediate. We had a spike in inquiries, from his friends and followers on his Instagram account.
We're not complaining. We're quite happy that the customer was appreciative of the work we did for him. We're also happy for the new business. Selling garage door openers does not usually lead to repeat sales. The better your garage door is, the less chances of it getting damaged and needing repair or replacement. The truth is that we deliver the best we can because it is very hard for us to repair garage doors and garage door openers because of their size. In addition, a damaged, broken or corroded garage door can mean a parts replacement or even a whole assembly. We might need to take down a whole garage door. This is bad for business. Unless the owner was at fault, everyone in the neighborhood would see the defective garage door.
Besides inclement weather and accidents, corrosion is another reason for damage. Although most of these instances are beyond our control, we do feel sorry for the client, when we see even worse things. Not getting in or out of the garage is a problem. The client calls us up immediately and asks for our assistance. Bad weather in many forms can lead to rusting at the seams or the edges of the door itself. Rust and corrosion can also make its way inside the garage door mechanism. Other times, the homeowner crashes his car into the door. A slight dent can cause a misalignment and lead to further damage when the door is in use. These are fairly normal occurrences for us and something we try to fix as soon as possible.
Every time we have a happy customer, we check social media for any mention. It's a good feeling when our company, garage door repair Wheeling, gets mentioned in relation with a happy customer story.
